| Cuisine
on Charlotte is a sidewalk eatery on the corner of Charlotte
and Albert streets in Brisbane's CBD. The project brief
included decoration of structural columns, balustrading
and a glass feature wall. Instead of decorating off-the-shelf
RHS columns, the structures were redesigned and manufactured
from scratch to give form and function equal weighting.
The balustrading has been purposely cantilevered to emphasise
tension, creating movement with asymetrical visual balance.
The balustrade can also be used as extra seating for cafe
patrons. See Cuisine
on Charlotte Balustrading for more details. |
